I know this is an icefishing group but I found this fasinating. I was on a early winter caribou hunt on a large lake in alaska, it was still open because of the size. I was in my waders using the lake shore/shallows as the eaisest route and had my headlamp on after dark. There were small burbot (6-10 inches) all over the shallows. And they were super mellow. A person could walk up slow and if you reached fast enough catch them in your hands. I caught about 5 before I decided enough was enough and need to get back to camp. I just found found it to be pretty cool!! Hope you guys dont mind the post. Its getting colder we'll all be on the ice soon!!
