Slender spoon question
« on: Nov 12, 2011, 08:34 PM »
Just got back from pickin up a few jigs and line at gander. Picked up a custom jigs and spins 1/16oz "slender spoon". Was wondering if I should use the clip that comes with the spoon or just tie onto the spoon itself? Thinking maybe the clip is required for the proper action possibly? Stupid question I know, but I gotta kill time on here until ice up!

Not to worry TT, the clip allows the spoon to flutter erratically on the fall, definately use the clip, Good luck !

If the action is HOT, it really doesn't matter.  But most of the time I use it ;)

I use them all the time, it allows for a quick change of color or spoon size. I have tried tying direct but the slednder spoon was designed to work with the clip and the action is second to none with it on

Definately use the clip or a good ball bearing snap swivel. Whatever works for you!

it is part of the action of the lure. makes the fish want it a little more with than without. to bad more lure makers dont do the same.
