I’ll make that call, again. To confirm whether we have rights to use that access or not. Stay tuned……

no  big bay marina  is  open!  in fact  people are launching boats  i talked to him on the  phone  ....the  area thats  chained  is  the  culvert access   at the  turn on  keller road   you  know the  guy  dug it out so people would fall and get hurt .........the reason no one owns that property  is it's a  culvert  for  water  .......and it's the  road way lol

When I looked at the access at the end of Keller Rd. at Big Bay on the Oswego Tax Map it does not appear to have a TAX map number. This suggests to me it is not private property. Usually Oswego County tries to get every tax dollar available using the tax map number. https://oswegogis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=166b681573904803b1e23149ad2d195b

I swung in there today and there is a chain with a posted sign across the access. I have also noticed that the DEC access sign has been gone for a while.

When I look on On-x that land shows as government land. I am going to check with the DEC.

Regarding the Jewel access. Here is the DEC response.

“ NYSDEC has an easement at the Jewell location for ice fishing access only.  Other people (e.g., nearby/adjacent property owners) have easements for year-round access to the lake at the same location.  They typically have a chain across when there is no ice since it is not available to the public.  Once ice forms, the chain and signs are moved.  Please let me know if there is a chain/sign in place once ice forms on the lake.”

Thank you for the clarification about the fishing access at Jewel. Ice fishing access only after ice forms.

Thanks for doin the leg work reeleyz. Good spot to have in the arsenal. That hill can be rough after a long day on the ice but that’s what keeps it from being another Lewis point s***show

Your spot on iceman I rarely go to Lewis point anymore , seems like every time I go there I end up picking other peoples 💩 up or I see the tape torn down and tare up the grass , and of course guys cutting across peoples property when the path to the lake is well marked with sno fence
 Rant over 🤔

And then them are the first ones to complain and wonder why a place gets shut down.. lol. I remember a couple seasons back I seen a 5 gallon pale on the ice out off Lewis with no one around. Went to go grab it and it was full of 💩 literally!! **censored**! That bucket stayed on the ice that day to say the least

I made the phone call this morning. I also have someone who has some insight to what the deal is with that access. And, soon as I know, all of you will know. I want the true facts before I/they say anything.

you have to  be  clear we are  talking about two  different access points  here   the  marina  is  not the  same  as the town  culvert access

I’m talking about the access at Woodworth Road and Keller Road only. I wouldn’t send anybody out of the marina.
