Anyone ever try planner boards on a river, from the bank? I've thought about it, just never tried.

Yes sir a few decades ago on the salmon river we used these

No reason 1 of the new boards wouldn’t work for you , they come in different sizes

Cool, might allow for a different presentation. You could keep the bait dangling in their face. I'm sure current and flow would dictate how well it worked.

I’ve used that pink planer board for big streams targeting trout and trolling lake clear wabblers for Brookies. Never caught a thing with them but they definitely work as they should

I haven’t used them in a river but did fish with them from a pier with spoons and worked! Used a smaller size than the usual walleye board obviously so I could swing it out there far enough without snapping the line.

HEY YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL SHOW UP
was on local news tonight

A 4ft alligator has been captured from a lake in a New York park. The reptile - which has reportedly been nicknamed Godzilla - was spotted on Sunday morning by staff in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. They contacted the park's authorities, who then captured the gator in the park's lake. It was later taken to the Bronx Zoo

For those of us who don't really know can we get the skinny on the OGGO POGGO ?  Is he an Onieda creature ?  should we be afraid for our children ?

well  62   it's your lucky day i was here when  you started  asking  your  questions  ....see  62  i am  one of the  few  living men   that  can  claim  he was chased  by a  attacking   oggo poggo and i have  photographic  evidence  of  this happening!!!!!  one picture is  worth a  1000  words.....

we  had to  row  for our lives  and  fight off this  evil creature of the  deep  .......the oggo  poggo  clearly  makes  the  lock ness  monster and  big foot  look like  the  panseys they are!!!!

when  not   chasing  innocent  fisherman    the  oggo poggo  likes  to relax  and  give  people tyhe idea  he is  just a  friendly  sea  monster  but i  warn  you .....don't  trust him!!!!

and  as  far  as  children  are  concern  i  can  honestly  say  there  is  no  way i would  even  think about taking a  child  on oneida lake at this  time!!!!!!.....

i highly  suggest you all take that warning  serously

OGGO POGGO shows up when Trap and I are busy casting bobbers into the trees while crappie fishing in the spring. Floating, dead fatheads in our minnow bucket are his favorite treat. You should see the tricks Trap has taught him, for those treats. But, only Trapper has ever been able to perform this. Others have tried and failed….I’ll leave the rest of that story for Trap to tell you … he tells it better than I can. 😁
