And here comes the rain. This will do some damage around the edges.  >:(

At least the heavy rain has stayed mostly south so far.

Yeah, I went out saturday, picked up two keepers but the hat trick eluded me.  Sunday, I dried out the flip-over in the sun & wind and organized gear for storage.

No big deal.  Seasons change ... now spring trout, gearing up for turkeys, and getting the garden stuff ready.  Short season, but I had fun.

Not looking good for ice this week. I see the boys from Triple T Towing pulled a couple machines out that went in off Verona Beach. I may try to walk out one more time but I'm not sure about that.

All the feeder streams are up 1 to 2 ft. And they show the lake level about half a ft below full pool.  Need some cold weather to slow down the run off if you are looking to get on the ice.

Yeah it’s not looking very good. Where I access went from good to bad in less than 24 hours. Granted there is a 2-3 foot wide feeder creek near my access that is running like a fire hose but the ice out there looks pretty grey

Watched a sled get popped out of a hole just off cornell point little while ago. Not far off the shore at all so probably where the rocks soaked up the sun.

Tremendous wind gusts and torrential downpours here South of Oneida.  Going to be a tough night for the ice.

The lake has risen  quite a bit last 2 days, creeks are running high lots of water pouring in. Hope that ice candles fast before the breakup. Red wing blackbirds are back around here bullheads will be biting soon.

Hello All,
Planning a camping / fishing trip in early June to Oneida.
We will be towing a boat. Does anyone have any experience or preferences with either camping at Verona State Park or Oneida Shores Park?

Looking to target walleyes or perch!
Any favorite baits or suggestions would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

Oneida shores has a boat launch on site, Verona Beach you will have to trailer your boat. Another great option is renting a cottage from apps landing or other small cottage rentals that have docks. In June, fishing is good all around the lake so base it on your accommodations.

Another consideration is the wind.  If you go to Verona Beach and want to launch nearby the wind will be a big factor.  A 3 day blow will have you trailering more towards the West end.   After a 3 day blow the East end is the place to be….

There isn't anyone out of Chapman or Sylvan Beach on the cameras now. Anyone able to report on how the shore and main sheet have faired through rain and wind? Thanks.
