Yep that sucks , peaceful where we were nobody within 300 yards
Didn’t set  them on fire , brought home 20 perch and 2 eyes that just happen by
Well IMO by looking at the ice after all the rain there is a lot of air bubbles it so the integrity isn’t what it was , don’t get me wrong there is still plenty of ice time left , but when it starts to go with all that air in it it will quicken the thaw , just an ol buzzards .02

Launch at Godfrey is a little spicy.  Bring boards to cross at the launch. Then again at the shove. It is a little windy out today but there is heat in the shack.

If life were easy everybody would have one.

Lots of chasers. Can't get them to commit. I like the fists full of fifties and it's three am kind of fishing. This is too much like work. I've tried raps, pimples, rattle shad, drops hot. If I had dynamite I'd use that. I don't dare move as the torque converter is frozen engaged. No stopping. Type 2 fun all day.

I drove from North Bay to Central Square yesterday and every spot I could see had some open water. Some areas were shot, some just a few feet open. Looks like the snow got it all slushed up and it's starting to freeze now. Hopefully it tightens up enough so all the access points are good to go in the morning.

Fished out of Jewell yesterday, the heave out in front of there was pretty sketchy on the way in last night before the snow. After you get past that the ice was beautiful.

My main access spot is shot. Went right through with the sled in knee deep water. Drove over to Taft and was able to access there with the sled. Ice on the main lake is good but the shorelines are shot. 2 short eyes a small perch and a keeper perch for me this evening. Fished 28 fow from 3:15-5:15. Marked prob 30-40 fish. The ones I did catch were on a jiggin rap without bait

Right on about the ice.  We have walked 100’s of miles of ice and have learned ice. There are places you walk through, or around. There are places you back slowly away from and I’ve even laid down and rolled20 or 30 yards from.   The bad thing about sleds and wheelers is when whizzing along you don’t learn the ice and if you do know ice you are going too fast to recognize the warning signals.    Be careful guys.

I might add give the streams plenty of room , with all the rain streams have risen
And at this point on a spud is a good idea

X2 on this. It wasn’t at Oneida. But 3rd creek sodus last week after the 2 warm days and the rain watched a guy on quad go across the front of tubes maybe 50’ from open water. I thought I was gonna have to get my ropes.

Please be safe people.

i said right after the rain  the shore lines are paying for this .....otisco the ice was soft and i could feel it  spongy getting on   no  4 wheelers  or  sleds there so it remained   ...fulton canal  don't even think of trying to get on the  edges are all broken you will  get a  bath   phoenix  is  just as  bad  but i'm sure a few  will get on ...i really  don't recommend it all that water is at least a foot higher with warm currents under the ice .....be careful use that spud and your head  there is good ice to fish  just avoid the bad ice ps  i did pull some crappies  in fulton's lake neatahwanta .....in the deep hole

I used to fish Fulton lake all the time as a kid.  We pulled a lot of bass out of there.  Never saw many guys ice fishing it.  Are there still tiger muskies in there?

3/29/15 don't think we will go that long this year. I agree with FR saw black ice start to air up 2 weeks ago sun is working on it.

Anyone know how the ice is out of the south shore fishing access?  I'd be going on foot not by machine.
