Hey guys. I've never fished Oneida before but a friend just offered up their lake house for a weekend trip.

I want to plan a trip out in the next few weeks and am trying to determine if I'm in a decent spot depth wise or if I need to travel a bit. The house is on the west end of the lake near a bay.  Navionics shows lots of structure and water depth anywhere from 8-12 foot of water. Wondering if that is too shallow and if we should travel or not. We do have a wheeler and snowmobile.

Not looking for  GPS spot, just wondering how the depth sounds.

I appreciate  the help.
Rob

We have a stiff 15 plus mph NNW wind right now. Wind chill -5. Ice should be decent shape before the snow next week.

I stopped at Apps today as well. Had a nice visit with Rick and Dave. As Chowdaire mentioned, they are hard at work stocking and getting the walls full of inventory.

FYI - the walleye limit on Oneida Lake is STILL 3 fish over 15” for now.

The 5 fish limit is still just a proposal and not a law yet.

Thank you👍. I hope there is an abundant keeper class this year. I couldn't hide from those short piranhas last year

Sad part for what many of my friends experience that live on Lewis Point Road from the ice fishermen that park there is blocking of their driveways at times and parking partially on the lawns of private property. One of the main reasons they have no parking signs down there, is when the cars really get crowded on Betsinger and Lewis Point Road, emergency vehicles such as firetrucks and ambulances at times would not be able to get down these roads in case of an emergency. The code enforcement officer and the sheriff's are well aware of the problem. People just need to be smart and considerate.

Anyone else look at the Chapman Park we came and notice that red hub hasn’t moved since it was setup yesterday morning?

I live at the end of Bettsinger Rd. I'm the guy with the posted signs across my property trying to keep people, sleds and 4 wheelers off my lawn. Maybe they would like to help pay my taxes. Sheriffs won't do anything untill someones house burns. Rant over

That access has been a crap show for years. I have a story I can tell about how a vehicle blocked me in and it got moved out of my way somehow….🤔 but, I’ll save that for another day!! 😁 I feel for the folks on that road.
