One thing I've learned about Oneida somewhere on the lake the fish are hitting weather does effect them . How not really sure but they will be hitting somewhere. Many times I couldnt get a bite and some where else some one is killing them

I'm in williamson and we got like 6" inches of snow yesterday and only maybe 2 over night it's still snowing but doesnt seem as bad as they have said
If you sit around all day and do nothing your a bum, but if you sit in a boat all day or in a shanty and do nothing they call you a fisherman

  • I'd rather be on the ice, then in a boat...

We've got 6 to 7" here in Brewerton so far. The radar is heavy snow over onieda lake. She's not going to make any ice with all this snow !! Walking is out. Just have to wait till it slushes up, and freeze back up. The snow will soften the little ice we have. Be safe !!!   Sully...

Ya, Hartman, we grew up fishing together.  I just told him to tell Trip to send it, come on guys! If I can't fish at least I can watch somebody.

Has anyone been out from Chapman a few miles? I was curious of the ice thickness. I am planning on taking my father out fishing and he isn’t able to walk far so I was going to bring my sled out if possible. Any help of where it might be “safe” to do this would be appreciated.

I was going to run out at dark and do one last check but the wind picked up and the snow started coming down hard again so it'll probably be different by morning anyway.

Exactly the same here at 15:00 as oneida1 posted.

Always looking for good parts for the Ski Doo. I just got A thing from App's that the shoreline in front of Godfreys and the Jewell access is not good at all. I talked to some friends that were out today, already slush under the foot of snow we got on the north shore. There was only 4-6 inches of real black ice here, this will make things sketchy. Get out your nitro pills or some fatty studs on your sleds, it will settle down Monday I'm hoping.

Doesn't Apps do ice rescues for sleds/quads? Somebody will chime in that knows... Might be better to get it off the ice and then fix it.

He runs a 4 wheeler. Even if he was doing rescues I’m not sure he could get out there right now with the snow?

They have A device to pull sleds out of the lake and back to shore, but I don't think they do tows. All you need is A good sled and whatnot, just pull the belt off the broken down sled and they pull like nothing. I have pulled 2 people off like that.
