Everyone - Keep in mind that this is just a preliminary drawing. There should (most likely will) be some input from the locals on this.

I agree, no grass, extend the parking, make sure there is still access to the lake for ice fishing.

Same here choo choo, painfully slow isn’t the word for yesterday! Same spot that produced 3 limits was tough to even mark fish. 5” ice and the chase is back on!
Keep chasing and searching....that mass of fish is out there somewhere!

Agreed ,architects always throw in something cutesy , so everyone can enjoy
Yes access for ice fishermen would be nice

My grandfather kept his boat at App's when I was little, one of my favorite spots. I got my first pair of dress shoes from Mrs App at the town store.

We got 4-5 inches of snow easy here today, no more easy dragging out there. I have found 4-5 inches of consistent (black) ice, only it goes up to 7-8 where the frozen snow is, so 3 inches is pretty much frozen snow/slush on top. Going back in the shop till things firm up, i've had my walking for the year. Time to get the sled out soon.

:)

I was wondering if any one knows when construction will begin?
..... and what do they mean when they say "boat" access for angling opportunities? Boats can tie up there to walkup to get bait?.... a car top boat or carry in boat launch area?.... just wondering.

BTW Fred, just missed seeing you and goon boy yesterday att Apps....hopefully see ya's next time.

The weather has sure been against us this season.  I took the wheeler out one day last week on the south shore cause I was finding consistent 6 inches of good ice.  But haven't had it on the north yet not comfortable with the inconsistency there.  Had areas yesterday where I measured just over 3 inches.  Barely comfortable for walking sure wouldn't trust running around with the wheeler.  Got about 4 inches of snow last night with 6 or 8 (or more) coming tomorrow.  Too bad cause the temp is supposed to be close to zero.  Then warming up next week.  Cant seem to win.

Varies. For the most part ok. No machines yet. But that's before this weather system.

fished Chapman this morning.......3-4" of snow.......wheeler did fine heading n/w .......cracks were leaking water and were easy to spot.....wouldn't have crossed them if I hadn't been out there previous day.....they were tight the yesterday......14 perch and a few short eyes......fish were not very aggressive.......I think the new coating of snow made them a little groggy......had to work hard with small stuff.......talked to a guy who only could make it out a couple hundred yds .......said drag was horrible.....ice is slick under the snow.....sled time.......ice 6" and hard......6"+ of snow tomorrow will not be good for walkers

This is some wet, heavy snow too. Be a real sticky drag.

I'm pretty sure there's mostly enough ice for the wheeler but after tomorrow there may be too much snow!

It's always an adventure.

Any luck will melt down and freeze next week. Many cold days to come after the Monday Tuesday warm up.

Hopefully this rain knocks that snow down good. Then if this next snow is nice and heavy it will be packed down good.

I’ve got one and I use it even on glare ice.

Smitty is great but with only 5-7" of ice and now this heavy wet snow it's probably gonna be slushy. Hopefully sleds break some trails and pack spots down, time will tell. Hit a smaller lake south of Oneida and found 5" ice but not much for active fish. Stayed until 8pm with no luck.

The lake is most likely going to be a mess.  A heavy wet snow yesterday with rain then another 6-12" to seal it all in, should be good times.  I'll be watching my buddy fish the bassmasters in Florida this weekend on the internet.

Hopefully it actually rains next week and knocks it down some.

At this rate it could be over 12".

What is everyone's take on how the snow will impact the fishing this weekend? Aside from the walk being a bit tougher, will it be bad for the bite?

I’ve caught them in blizzard like conditions and also blistered them on blue bird sky days
