Bought some maggots today and had to go through a lot of vials to find a couple that didn't have mostly dead ones.
-
That sucks!!!!!!
-
Stuff happens. Sounds like they over-ordered, or got a bad batch in from their supplier.
-
Yea, they should look at that and get rid of unusable bait, feel sorry for someone who just grabs a vial and goes.
-
I agree they should go through their stock, but if someone just “grabs a vial and goes”, it’s on them, not the store.
-
I agree, but I'm guessing alot of people don't. I check everything, just a bit of shake on the vials shows if they're good or not, ended up pouring a bunch in my hand to get a better look. I'd order them, but my son discovered wrestling so I don't get out as much as I'd like to.

mean,
I hear you about ordering some. I did that this year with waxies. Had a big delay in shipping, and when I did get them, half of them were dead and useless. I get them from the pet store now. 50 at a time! Mucho better! 👍🏻

I’ve had that problem for the last month with wax worms. Went to 3 places and all 3 had 1/2 dead or soon to be dead worms. Hardly any even moved.
-
I've never used waxies, never had a problem ordering, but guess there's always a first time. Where'd you order from?

Yea, wish I had more choices, but they're the only place here that carries them.
-
Did you call SW and give them a chance to make it right?

I don’t remember the supplier, but it wasn’t their fault. Shipping via USPS wasn’t the best idea, even though the parcel was obviously labeled LIVE BAIT!

everybody that sells bait or sporting goods has them here, even Fleet Farm.

Yea, that'll do it, can't remember who I ordered from last, but was fedexed over night for a reasonable price.

I'm starting to see more here, a couple years ago you couldn't find any at any store, but a store we stop at for sodas on the way to the lake had them there today, was a bit surprising.

most likely old bait and improper storage. were they dead ot in their cocoon state? I bought mine from Agway, a farm supply store. they just arrived and they were all very lively. I have had them for 3 weeks and a few of them have started to Pupate. no dead ones. I keep them in the fridge in a bait buck. fridge is just under 40*. same with waxies except they stay in their original plastic cup. I buy those from pet smart.
