Delaware Lake

Has Anybody fished Delaware Lake this year?  How much ice did you have?

Went up there today and nobody was there.  There were tracks and sled trails in the snow, so I know people have been fishing it.
Started spudding my way out and hit a spot with about 2 inches of ice.  Drilled a hole about 10 yard from shoe and it was 6 inches of white snow ice.  Didn't feel comfortable so I left.

Maybe I'm getting too old!

Always better to back out if you are not sure. It's happened to me many times. Especially since im by myself most of the time.

I was there on Sunday morning. Ice felt pretty safe, i drilled about 4-6 inches of ice everywhere i drilled. Last week was hitting 2-3 inches of ice, with 2 inches of water under that, then another 3 inches of ice under that. I stayed until about 8 or so. Marked plenty of fish, but couldnt buy a hit. Weather doesnt look too good for next weekend. And no on the too old thing, it's called experience and wisdom, i stopped taking stupid chances many years ago.

So i jumped ship in Tibet..............
