I tip mine with a minnow head!! Pinch it , don't cut it! Very affective.

For twighllight eyes its usually not really neccessary to tip with a small minnow head. But it often is really helpful. The main thing is to use a small minnow head and to make sure you place it right so you don't overbalance the lure and ruin the action.

Tipping them with a piece of minnow or minnow head can be good. If you feel it affects the action try some of the Berkley turbo dough on the center treble hook or some of the spray or rub on scent, that way the action won't be compinsated.

Never tipped them with anything - great lure to jig smelt with, have done pretty well on perch and crappies also.  Even get the occasional lake trout.  Good luck!!

For walleyes, most of the time, minnow head it is.

When the bite is tough though, working the bottom with the raps and a SMALL live minnow is hard to beat.  I hop the rap on the bottom, makes little clouds of silt I guess, then raise the lure so it's not on bottom anymore and pause.  The rap is slightly off the bottom but the minnow is kicking up dirt and what-not and causes inactive fish to bite, sometimes.  Also proved effective in community spots.

Well I will have to agree with the rest of the guys on this one..A minnow head or tail..and sometimes spikes. Any live minnow will ruin the action on the jig and may turn off the fish.

Depends on what I'm fishing for. Maggots for perch, minnows for pike and eyes. They have some nice looking colors out this year. Maybe Santa will leave me a couple under the tree.  ;) ;D

Try taking the treble hook off the of the jgging rapala.I find you pick up less silt and stuffwhen tapping it on and off the bottom.Tipping it with a minnow head will also entice a bite when not aggressive ;)
