Meeting Lake 2018-19
« on: Dec 09, 2018, 04:10 PM »
Any one been out yet this year? I am heading out to the Cabin for the 1st time this winter. Just curious to know ice thickness, and wether I should come up with any type of hope of a fish fry or bring some sausage and burgers.

So your saying it’s still dangerously thin?

We had ranges of 8” up to 14” depending on where you went... saw big 3/4 ton and an old 5th wheel out on the ice....

Too thin for me to drive on with my 1/2 ton... the trucks that we drive by us sure moved the ice a lot...

Fished many places and many depth... caught 1 3” perch and 1 2 inch shiner of some kind.  Slow... slow... slow...

I am up at the cabin this weekend, those that have shacks out on the ice should start to formulate a plan for removal.  There is very little truck access if any, very deep snow with a hard pack crust and the light fluffy stuff under it.
