Post by: kiyoat on Dec 05, 2018, 07:30 PM
I have Trout in our dam, what do people use to catch them?
There are a lot of fresh water shrimp in it too so I think they have lots of feed.

We used to just fish them out of my friend's dugout in summer and through the ice.  At his father's farm where the dugout wasn't as deep he used to drag a net through before freeze up but we'd ice fish for the ones he missed.    I think we usually got them all, though 1 year there seemed to be 1 fish in there that wouldn't quite commit.  After an aerator was installed in the deeper one they kept some over 2 or 3 years and they were pushing 3 lbs.  Shooting fish in a barrel but a riot on a fly rod.
