Just logged in to see what had been happening in the Shanty during the warm days of summer. Damn, this is not the kind of update I was hoping to read...very sad news indeed.
Ron was a good ambassador for our winter hobby. 4yrs ago, he was the first person to introduce himself and offer a hand as I was putting my first ever hard sided shack on the ice.
He will be missed by many and his adventures and stories will live on in the memory of others.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and friends for their loss.
I hope we as a community can rally and have an event in his honor/benefit this winter on Hermon Pond and toast a beverage of choice to the Ringleader of the Circus.
