10" Mako opinions....
« on: Jan 17, 2012, 05:54 PM »
Looking to see how the Mako works, specifically with the 10" auger.  For sake of discussion, assume ice depth of 2-3'.  I would rarely see a true 3', and I am mainly a tip-up guy - thus not drilling dozens of holes each time out.....

Just trying to see if I save a few dollars, over the z51.

Thanks.

Right now many places have the z51 for only a bit more than the Mako. But it is an end of the season thing and when they are gone they are gone.

I have a new z51 and think you would appreciate the extra power once the ice gets near 2 feet deep or more. In 12 inches or less the Mako would do just fine.
