Machines on Eel Bay or LOTI..?
« on: Feb 23, 2023, 12:30 PM »
Looking to run up to either Eel Bay or LOTI on the SLR on Saturday.
Are folks walking or could I use my Snowdog?  Too thin or good to go..?

Anyone...?

No idea about that but except for some far north waters, I would be careful even walking on any ice never mind taking any machines out on it ....I live in CNY and the ice is coming off Oneida lake fast, and even some small lakes only totally locked up 2-3 weeks ago .... and some of them are opening back up too.  I can't imagine the area you are talking about being any better ....

There was 5-6” of ice on eel bay on Monday…. We now have 6” fresh snow with a major cold front coming in …. You probably would be fine with the snow dog but the issue now is you won’t be able to see bad areas of ice …

Personally, I wouldn’t take any info on late crap ice from anyone. Well maybe one person. People are playing roulette these days… too big of a gamble for me. Snow covered crap ice isn’t good. Just my .02

Ice is cheaper than a boat.
