ICE SHANTY will be recognized on the Ice Map Report.
The NEBRASKA ICE MAP is managed by the non-profit NEFGA.org with ice condition updates gathered from State and Federal Fisheries Managers as well as several approved Nebraska Ice Fishing Forums. Bogus Ice Condition Reports will be relayed to the appropriate Administration for their appropriate actions.
ALWAYS check the dates of each ICE MAP report. In Nebraska, Ice conditions can change daily!

Valentine National Wildlife Refuge general ice report. Ice thickness checked on 1/3/2024 between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Ice at Clear Lake was 5-7", at Dewey Lake 3-4", and at Hackberry 4". Other lakes were not checked at this time. Observed ice fisherman on Dewey Lake during the afternoon on 1/2/2024, and someone had been on Clear Lake as well.

Lincoln Lakes
Holmes Lake is mostly capped, from 1" to skim depending on location. Geese have a large section open by the dam.
Bowling is capped with 1" of ice. Not ready yet, but soon.
