Lol - Was working on a barge today off Ohio St., and the guys from the CG said minor ice accum, but they’re Cpt said be ready for 14 day look out.

Checked off waterworks today was 3 whacks and through id say 1.5 to 2 inches some areas on the popcorn shoves were 3 inches. Wasn't out to far maybe 100 yards.

Went to chatauqua today and took route 5 along Erie all the way from Silver Creek to Westfield. Pretty much open. What happened to almost 80 percent frozen. We must have the open 20.

East wind. That 20 percent was all open 34 degree water off Dunkirk. Ice blew into it and melted. Oh well

When there is a NE or E wind (like today) the NY side opens up when the ice is thin. Ice gets pushed toward Canada, that is why we need thicker ice and don't go out when there is a NE or E wind.
