Title: Vexilar inbound!
Post by: Van Noord on Oct 21, 2021, 01:45 PM
Ordered an FLX12 pro pack, 19° transducer, neoprene cover, and Ultra pack shuttle.
Got rid of my hummingbird flasher after being tired of dealing with false bottom readings and it's washed out and dim dial appearance outside and in the sun.

I hole hop outside most of the time on a river with significant current so it was getting to be an issue because you can only sit facing one direction on a river like that.

The extra shuttle was just to try out and see which I like better the pro pack or ultra pack.

Getting excited but we're still about 9 weeks away from fishable ice here.

It's a big difference, I went from an Ice35 to a FLX28, fish outside a lot in the sun. As far as I know, all the FLX have the same main screen & brightness. Seemed like I had keep to turning or tilt the humminbird when the sun was strong, no problem with the FLX.

Never tried the ultrapack but mine came with pro pack and I didn't like it. I'd think the ultra would be better as it looks taller, and the float storage/handle looks better. I think the neoprene cover is a must without a case.

I have the Ultra pack on my FL18 stands taller ..I ditched the float for the most part and use the combo rod holder and Vexilar arm..I also use the Trophy Angler bag .I got an extra rod holder ..and both with work/goes through the TA bag ..3 rods for run-n-gunning one in hand two on the ultra case.
