WOW that is weird but cool looking.
If anyone out there has one or buys one I'd like to hear about it.
Those ice rods look cool and they come with a nice reel too.

Those have been out for quite awhile.  I saw them at an Ice Fishing show in St Paul three years ago.  Didn't look like many people buying them though.

I'm not sure how much of a hit they are here in the States...I've never seen anybody on the ice with one of them.....to me, they look like another gimmic to catch fishermen....Esox

Looks odd to me, also would be hard to store in my rod holders as well as travel packs.

That's the only downside..Other than that, I think you can still get a solid hook. Looks like a comfortable jigger to me :D

My Uncle Tom got one for xmas 2-3 years ago, he didn't try it for awhile but now swears he loves it and said once he got used to the new feeling it's one of his favorite rods and has been using it for couple seasons now. Tom strictly jigs and fishes full days, 4-5 days a week so he would know about wrist fatigue. I see them quite often in the bargin bins around here  as I don't think the idea really took off.

I hold my ice rods like a pencil, not like my open water fishing rods.

They are at the show in St. Paul every year.

Kinda gimmicky but I know guys that like them.

They are suposedly a decent rod.

I personally do not see the need for them in my arsenal.

That's the Dave Genz grip.  The Ergonomic's guy here at work saw me sitting at my desk jigging an ice rod over a laminated picture of a hole in the ice and said he was impressed by the way I held the rod.

I have the same set up in my bathroom, but I didn't really think anyone wanted to hear about that.

what i dont like is you seem to be  limited to their reels...the post has a bend in it...a straight one may not line up very good  :-\
