I suggest taking a look at the Arctic Armor bibs that Fish307 sells. I have a pair and love 'em. They're light but very warm and they float. You can choose from Red, Green, or Camo. The Green ones have a brushed tricot lining and the red and camo ones have a nylon style lining. Here's a link to them-->  http://www.fish307.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=649

Might want to do a search on Google for Guide Gear bibs at Sportsman's Guide.

Just bought the entire suit from them (blue/black), great price, great product. Very happy with my purchase.

Got the entire suit for <$100 after joining the "frequent buyer's club"...........

Padded knees, backside isn't padded.
One fish at a time...........

Have a look at the SnoSuit bibs...they meet all of your requirements.

http://www.snosuit.com/arctic/

I just purchased the coat and the bibs.  I can't wait to get out on the ice!!

They are also the official sponsor for Snow Gear for the In-Fisherman team.  Other big names are now hopping on board too...Brian 'Bro' Brosdahl is one of them.

Hope this helps,

I was gonna get the Arctic armor before knowing it would cost me $470 in Canada.. ouch.
I will look into the SnoSuit... probably no one that sells them in Canada either.. Kinda screwd with our dollar

Thanks for the input

Bro was wearing them last year after being forced out of Clam Corp.  I found it funny that they (Clam Corp) still used all his photo's in their ads last year, but he never stepped out in any of their products last season.  Bro will excel no matter where he goes!  Hopefully he can turn Frabill around too!

WHOA!!!!
Hang on guys!
Forgot all about Sierra Trading Post. www.sierratradingpost. com
Discounts on winter Bibs.
6 pages worth -> Look for the ones that say "Insulated and Waterproof".
Saw at least 5 that were selling between $50.00 and $100.00
Worth looking at.
Again -> Stay away from Cahart (Brown) They soak up water like a sponge and if you go through the ice, its like having an anchor tied to your legs!!!!!
Remember, Anything that has Cotton in it is the DEATH FIBER!

I have a pair of Browning XPO. Not padded in the knees but that's why there's snow on the ground  ;)

I wouldn't say they feel ultra durable but I don't abuse my stuff anyway. Never gotten cold, and never had regrets buying it.!

Saw these locally the other day.  The padded knees looked nice.  I want to do some comparing yet before deciding but I definitely need some new ones myself.  One thing I didn't like was the Vex logos all over, especially on the jacket.  I worry I'd look like a moving billboard at my size  :-[

I own the Vexilar bibs and really like them exept for a few things...I don't like how just the knee pads are water proof while the rest of the bib is water resistant.... Also had a problem with one of the buckles although Vexilar cleared that up for me with no issues. Can't complain though, got a steal of a deal on two pairs!

On the Vex bibs how do the sizes run small?  On the pants cuff by your boots do they get water soaked and the slush build up and freeze on them?

I can see that happening although it has not yet.

Have a pair of Carhartts, Ice Armors and just bought Artic Armor.  The old Carhartts are nice but they soak up water like a sponge.  The Ice Armor bibs are very nice but after seeing the videos on there flotation qualities and getting the Artic Armor last week they are by far the BEST!!!  Very light and warm.  Padded seat and knees, waterproof and lots of pockets.  Got them from www.profishingsupply.c om.  Free shipping, no sales tax and they threw in a pair of there Artic Armor gloves.  $339.  They were excellent to work with.

I bought the cold snap bibs when they first came out- really, for the price you can't go wrong. My pair has already seen a crazy amount of use and for the price, I would buy another pair if I had to again.I have not had a problem with them freezeing up or carryin ice buildup on the bottoms. Sure they are water resistant and not waterproof, but unless you plan on sitting in a rain storm for a long period of time I wouldn't worry about getting wet.

Nodie,

I have been using Coldwave snowmobile bibs for the past 2 seasons and I have not one complaint. They are windproof and water proof, all that I have on under them is a pair of jeans. You should be able to find a few places online that have them for around $100 US.

Cant beat a pair of 40 dollar Carhart bibs.  I don't really plan on going swimming anytime soon but Arctic Armor would probably be my swimsuit of choice if I did.
