I went once to humor a friend and I ended up really liking it. I always love when people walk up to our group on the ice and are shocked when they hear a girls voice. I have received my fair share of double takes when they realize there is a woman on the ice who is not someones child or married ( helpful hint to men out there: do not ask women on the ice if they are married to the people they are with. Especially if they are college aged. There are other reasons were out there) I have never seen another women out there. If your a women reading this considering going out on the ice, give it a try. You may find out you really like it

In between fall deer season and spring turkey what else is there??? Absolutely, I'm out every weekend there's ice from Dutchess County north to the Adirondacks. If there's ice on the King I won't be found anyplace else other than out looking for lakers! Weekends like this one with all day rain and 50 degree temps are meant for steelhead fishing the SR.  😃

I took my beautiful girlfriend out to black lake over a month ago through the worst snow storm ever it seemed. Took us four hours to get there and then had to bring everything out on the ice. Anyway she ended up catching a decent pike on a jiggin rod and that was all it took. She comes with me all the time and I love it! Of course I have a thermal shanty and a heater so its nice and comfy for both of us. She is determined to get back out because she lost a nice pike at the hole a few days ago and it took her clam epoxy pink strawberry shortcake jig with it. The one with the diamond on it. Go figure.
