cracked auger cover fix

I hope this may help someone here save a couple of bucks. The cover cracked where the bungee snaps on. I drilled a few holes, put wire through one hole then the one across from it and twisted with a pliers. Holds good and saved me some money.

Looks great...do you think that idea would work for a 6" strikemaster hand auger cover?  Just curious.

I don't see why not, as long as the plastic isn't real brittle. Actually thats how I figured this out. Working on the jeep one day, lightly tossed the fan shroud behind me, when I turned around it was in 3 pieces. A few holes, a few zipties and all good again. I tried the zip ties on the auger cover but they wouldn't pull it together tight enough so out came the wire. Works perfect again.
