i dont have the rod with me but i dont think it is a frabill, how it works is you push a button on the handle and it vibrates the lure for you, pretty cool. costed $40 but comes with a reel,a nice combo

has anyone ever fished with one of these buzzstix? i'd sure like to know how they work. $40 is a bit of a strech for something no one knows how it works. i'd like to see some rock solid facts of how it works. until then, i'd like to hear what everyone thinks of one of these...

I looked at those at the new Gander Mountain in Forest Lake, MN.
I think I'll wait until I hear some reports before sinking $40 into one. I looked at the website and they say why it was developed but they do not say that they actually caught fish with it.

I would have to agree with Hard H20. There needs to be some solid facts on the buzz stick before i would buy one. besides, i would think battery life would be short lived, especially in cold weather. as soon as someone uses the buzz stick, i'm sure everyone would like to know how it works. myself, i am extremely skeptical. but who knows, there is a chance it could revolutionize ice fishing. maybe it works for finiky fish. maybe it doesn't work at all!!!

I`ve never seen one. I was wondering if it would interfere with light biters.

Gander mountain in tonawanda n.y. has them in stock. they are selling them w.o. a reel . i didn't look at the price it looked really hokey to me .i don't know of to many ice anglers that are that lazy they can't jig manually.

Supposedly it is not that an angler might be to lazy to jig. It is that the forage makes such minute movements that they can't possibly be duplicated by an angler. I have heard this for years in seminars and at shows. You should try to make little 1/32" movements with the tip of your rod. That would mimic the daphnia and shrimp that panfish feed on.
I have heard some pros say that you should tap the rod with your finger ever so slightly to get as little movement to you jig as possible. I have never tried it.

I looked at them at the Gander Mtn. here in Rochester the other day. Without reel $29.95 with reel $39.95. I'll buy one without the reel and give it a try. I've wasted more money than $30 for fishing stuff before but I really think it may give the subtle movement sometimes necessary. Besides, it can always be used the normal way.

The new Cabela`s in Hamburg, Pa. has them for the same price. $29.95 without reel and $39.95 with. I saw a lot of people playing with them and smiling. Musta sorta reminded them of something, ya think ?
I still think that when you jig by hand, you`ll feel those little bites a lot better.

Seen them at Gander mountain, and in Cabelas Xmas catalog. Im curious to know what kinda battery it takes. I a AA AAA, can just use rechargeables. Id liek to see some write up on it too, but i can see how that can mimic a movement that an angler cant, its does move pretty fast. Im just curious on how sturdy it is, especially if a walleye or pike hits the bait.

It works off of a cam that jigs the rod tip.Batteries are 5.50 They claim they last 10 hours. For the money I can do the same thing.(Buzz Sticks)Some come with kick starts,D cells.Thats cheap. Why do you think we lost are power a few days ago?
