Badger and Beaver in Central IA
« on: Jan 01, 2019, 11:18 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has been by either one and how much open water do they have?

The forecast sucks for the next 10 days in central Iowa. We need a big pattern flip. I rarely get to fish before the first of the year but This is depressing. Hopefully the second half of January cools down, we need a good 7 days of highs in the 20’s to get some ice actually started. I’m cautiously optimistic but it’s getting harder to stay that way......

I understand that there is open water along the north shore of Beaver.

A buddy and I fished Beaver late this afternoon. Ice was a good solid 4". The west end still looks open. Fishing was slow.
