More or less difficult to catch a 3 footer through the ice or via soft water?
I do well on them in summer and never targeted through the ice curious
from the pike crowd perspective?

i m having a hard time catching a 3 ftr !   ;D

i nailed them this summer with a buddy on champlain but a thing a lot of people don't realize is champlain is worlds difference in the other places i fish...we caught a bunch of pike in the boat on champlain drifting shiners , threw the ice its been slower but i haven't been in the same place much and it coulda been the day...but on other ponds i've been on , if you catch a pike all day your doing good !
i like ice fishing tho because i have multiple chances to catch a fish/big fish and it keeps my daughter entertain and she can still jig...
most people i talk to only fish them in the winter because the pike are heavier and they can have multiple lines
