Drove by St. Cats and Bomo today. Nothing on the little lake besides what looks like leftover junk around the edges from before the rain. Same deal at the Float bridge. I thought for sure we would have a skim after last night. Maybe tonight will do the trick.

I'm hoping maybe this Saturday I'll find a small pond with walkable ice, doubtful but possible...

I have always wondered why there is no fishing on Berlin Pond.  I tried to look on the fish and game website after I read this post but the onoly thing I could find on there was a notice of a Tournament in March that was cancelled.  I couldn't find anything on it being illegal to fish or why?  Do you or anyone else know why there is no fishing?  Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they had meetings about opening it up for recreation this summer. I only heard about that once or twice in the paper though. If you go up there usually you can see fish swimming around. There are some real monsters in there! I know out near my house they opened up the Barre Reservoir (in Orange) for fishing at several designated spots and the place is a dump now.

Checked out the float bridge today...I walked out a couple of feet. about 1.5 to 2 inches, but its really spotty with lots of open areas out toward the middle. Its going to freeze un-evenly, so be careful if you are out there this weekend.

Norton Pond is all locked up, not that it matters until January. I am waiting on Island Pond and South bay of Memph. Got the sled out today though with all the snow around. We'll be out there soon! Keep updating this thread, with pics too!

Not being able to fish norton till jan 1 is the worst rule ever. If we could get out there before that the real pike would be had. Does anyone really know when the last trout was caught????its is the first to lock up and last to leave. Lame if you ask me!

if anyone knows of any place looking safe in the NEK please post. Places like Parker, Miles Pond, South Bay etc... Also, does anyone know if the Clyde freezes and if so if it's legal or worth fishing it?
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles.

City of Montpelier gets its drinking water from Berlin Pond and for that reason plays politics
keeping people outta there. Dispute went to court spring 2010 and Berlin pond unfortunately remains
closed.  My neighbor used to fish there out of a row boat couple decades ago but they will
fine you and patrol aggressively. Residents there think of it as there own private paradise,
bird watching nature center...

Well, That doesnt really make any sense to me in the terms of Ice Fishing.  Not really sure how putting some lines in the water would damage the drinking water?  They also treat the water anyway.  I could see them saying no motors or something during the summer, but no fishing?  That just doesnt make sense to me
