I was down at the shack today, hooked into a nice fish. It starts spooling drag, I manage to slow it down, but it's so heavy that I cant get back much on it. It was fighting like a big laker and I was thinking 20+ by the way it's head was shaking. Then I realized I didn't print my tourney card out and I was thinking crap, this will be a possible winner After about 7 or 8 minutes I thought I might get a glimpse of him before he takes a big run. Sure enough, lake trout, but more like 5 lbs. I snagged him in the butt. That why he was fighting like that. I figure he took that hook so fast it was at his butt by the time I could set the hook. I was more dissapointed by forgetting the card than that he wasn't a winner. Let him go after a picture. Had to keep one laker later though because i couldn't subdue it to get the hook out and I don't think it would have survived after our efforts. Even if your careful it's hard to be 100%
