Rumor is 8 guys went out of Hamburg today and went strait out 3.5 miles. There was supposedly 12 inches of clear ice with a lot of shove ice underneath . I believe they did not travel west at all. I was also told someone traveled to pinhurst from hamburg yesterday, i did confirm the sled tracks at hamburg beach late last night. I may go tomorrow or Friday if there is a group. I would assume west of 18 mile is still no good so be careful out there.

Gonna take a sled ride out of Hamburg tomorrow if anyone wants to buddy up but it wont be till noon. lmk

I went today to pinehurst from hamburg ice was nice and flat 12 inches at pinehurst

I checked Barcelona today,all the ice blocks are now free floating,was going to fish but its a nogo,sorry guys!

Yeah I ended up checking Barcelona this weekend as well. Disappointed it was a no-go! Good news is Chautauqua Creek (the back up plan) was in decent shape for open-water trout fishing so it wasn't a totally wasted 2 hour trip.

The ice was great on Sunday but way to much water out there right now even with the 12 inches or more that we had. Need to wait and see if she locks up a bit.

Erie ice sure looks broken up on the satellite view. The wrong wind could cause major problems.

Went off Hamburg yesterday to Pinehurst was nice but there are still a few cracks out there and they could open up with east wind. Guys out today should be careful. Tomorrow will likely be out IMO.

Thanks for the info about the crack off Pinehurst, we were going to go West of that location tomorrow but decided now to stay on the East side of the crack. If wind changes that crack could be wide open and not able to get back across.

Guys were parked at Hamburg beach. Was driving down 5 from Evans. Didn`t see anybody out there, but there was a little fog from the rain.

At 49 ft the shove puts an end to traveling toward the line .. I thought I was shooting a gap in the shove and it was wide open water ... scary deal !!

I was surprised to see so many guys out today. Figured next weekend. How thick was the ice? Is it walkable? Quad is in southern tier.
