West Long Lake

Hello everone im new to ice shanty but not to ice fishing made it up to west long lake at the refuge on wednesday caught a good number of nice perch it was a good first trip the ice was anywhere from 3 to 5 inches tried pelican lake but the ice was still a little unsafe drilled a hole at less than 2 inches good thing those lake arent very deep

Wrestler, i'm heading up to the refuge this weekend and i was wondering if you knew the ice conditions or heard anything going on at the other lakes like clear, dewey or duck.  i thought the ice would be thicker than that, i was hoping to try pelican. guess we'll have to be careful where ever we go.

That was my first time to the refuge lakes so i dont know much at all about them we had talked to the guy at the hotel and bait shop they were very helpful
