Headed up from the soft water areas here in Illinois. No ice here yet.

Lots of ice on small lakes.  Most larger lakes have enough ice but no vehicles.  We just got 9" + on Sunday/Monday of heavy wet snow followed by rain & warm temps.  Fishing has been good for us.  We have not been out since the huge storm.

Where are you located at? What lakes are you fishing?

Lakes have plenty of ice for walking and snow machines. Lots of snow and slush on the lakes though but the wind and cold is helpping harden it up. 👍🏼

Iron Co lakes around Crystal Falls...lots of small pike on Way dam with some decent walleye.  Good bluegill numbers on smaller lakes that way.  Some people are driving on Way Dam.  Not a lot of ice for me...11-12" in the few spots we checked.    We did well in Gogebic Co also.

Is that the Michigamme reservoir? I see a Way Dam Resort when I do a search.

We use rock crusher road & hit one of the public access sites.  You can also go out from the resort.  This is accessed from M-69.  There is a big sign on the turnoff facing traffic going East on M-69.  You may have to pay a fee to use it as I'm not sure.  The resort may be a good source of information for you however.

How is the slush down there? How far do you have to walk to get to good fishing areas?

We didn't get out this weekend.  So we haven't been out since the big snowstorm last week.  Just giving the slush conditions a little more time to harden up.  We walk everywhere--at least so far this year.

Any update on ice conditions in Iron County? Slush on many lakes?
