Ice on Hopatcong !!!!!

Took a ride by the state park at LAke Hopatcong Saturday ... it was locked with ice   That put a big ole smile on my sons face as well as mine .. he said "Dad ... did you bring the fishing stuff" LOL ... well not yet anyway. 

But with this cold weather this week ... we might be on the ice by next weekend !  OOOO man i cant wait

Thats enough for me. I want to get out this afternoon cause im off work but don't have anyone to go with. I may be a little brave when it comes to venturing out on thin ice, but generally not by myself. I will be out fishin all day thurs,fri,sat, and part of sunday in PA, so I probably shouldnt even bother goin out today. Oh well If I go out somewhere Ill post a report later.

There's plenty of ice out here waiting for ya. 5+" on Jean this morning and Lilly had about 2.5-3" when we checked it last night.

Maybe 1 of these weekends I'll have to make a drive out to NJ n fish with you PP, instead of making u drive the 140 miles to me... Just leme know when Skunksville has some ice so I can go waste a few days properly.

not really,   it's like waiting for hell go freeze   .  There is some icefishing in the northeastern part of AZ in the mountains,  but it's mostly artificially stocked trout  so I can not really get exited about that.   I was watching temps up there   and it's like in the teens at night and then 50 during the day.  Pocket ice probably and good way to go for a swim.   I could probably drive to Utah or Colorado.  But that's a 10 hr trip and the gas prices are still pretty high,,,,and again....hatchery trout.  I rather fly back home to Jersey to wet the line....Just in time for Christmas

Mike didn't you ice a muskie on skunksville last season?

I iced 1 musky and had 1 or 2 run offs in about a dozen trips. The year before I did better than that in 1 day and the fish was way bigger. Then a week later I iced 2 and missed a run off in only a few hours.
