Anyone crazy enough to be going out today or tomorrow. It definitely has crossed my mind.
-
Nope! I'll wait till Sunday, it's nearly impossible to set up the shanty with the wind and way to cold to fish outside.
-
Yup, because I know a lot of people wont. Also caught pb pike in mass in this weather. There was 1 group out other than myself. Perfect.

When I was young I did. I never used a shack so I had to find small sheltered locations. It was never really worth it.
Now I pick my days. Ifvit means I skip a weekend, I get over it.
With the winters being what they've been recently, skipping a weekend is getting to be a frequent occurrence.
-
If it was just me I'd go tomorrow with my shelter but my kids aren't going to stay interested (warm) long enough for it to be worth my while. Might make an effort on Sunday-funday...

Neck warmer or baclava, and shi goggles are a must in this weather.
-
Yup I’m setting up right now on a small cove at a special pond on the cape. Wondering where the ice is 🙈

Never would have ever had an issue fishing in this cold. That said I turned 61 last month. I don't know if I'm getting wiser or softer. I'm waiting until
Sunday. ;D

Brief outing planned for Saturday and longer one planned for Sunday (when it's supposed to be warmer).

I've fished plenty of "record" cold days. Nothing the shanty and buddy heater can't handle. Mostly pike fishing on those days as you are hunkered down more with the slow fishing. Need to pay attention to wind directions and shore lines when setting up and it will make a world of difference

Hows the baby Matt?
-
My coldest start ever was -13 . I've been out in blizzards , high winds, super cold and pouring rain.
However the older I get, the more I pick better weather days. Some don't have that choice and are forced to either go in the worst conditions or wait a week.

the theme here is....as we get older we pick and choose some better days, instead of braving the bad ones. too many of those bad days never caring about weather. worst dat was -40 with wind chill. never again ;D
