Fishing around Condon
« on: Jan 20, 2015, 05:05 PM »
Hello All - wondering about fishing options around the Swan Valley.  I'll be in Condon early February and wanted to get the kids out to ice fish a bit.   Pike and Bull trout would be fun on Swan Lake - but I see Holland nearby also.  Looks like Lindbergh lake is nearby also - I've no experience in any of these places.  And no idea what the ice is like either.  Any suggestions appreciated?

Lindbergh would be best with snowmobile, it's a ways to the lake but you can get into perch, bull trout, lake trout there. I've fished out in front of Holland lake lodge and caught lots of small perch, bulls in there too. No snow machine needed. As you mentioned swan has pike, bulls, and also perch in the south end. I don't know first hand how the ice is but beware of spring holes on that end. I fished for kokanee off the S curves (2nd turnout north of town) about ten days ago, 5 plus inches of ice. It was slow but should be picking up. Snowmobile also opens option of van lake. Hope that helps. Use the ice shanty search bar, type in those lake names for more info.

I've fished Lindbergh a few times.  Small lakers, and not many fish.  Perch fishing can be decent near the outlet.  Don't expect too many fish

Thanks for the info everyone.

Went east to fish walleye this past weekend.  Ice was good but melting fast with 50+ degrees and wind.  Anyone been on Swan Lake or Holland this past weekend?  I think temps were up all over MT.
