Tippers - Meat vs. Plastic.
« on: Jan 31, 2015, 07:46 PM »
I normally just kill a few minnows and chop em up, heads go on raps, tails go on spoons.  I picked up a pack of some Impulse stone flies on a whim the other day and I really like them on the spoons, have caught quite a few perch and never have to re-bait.  I saw tonight that they sell rubber minnow heads but I'm kind of leery.  The stone flies have little arms and stuff that wiggle about, the heads just looked like hunks of plastic.  Has anyone had any luck on these?  Any reason to buy the actual plastic heads over just chopping up some rubber worms into chunks?
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.

My buddy tried the Gulp minnow heads the other day caught a few perch on them.  When he put a real minnow head on the same spoon he caught a walleye.  So they do catch fish just don't know if they beat the real thing.

Have had great luck using the minnow heads on the treble of jigging raps for walleye.
