boot fitting/inserts
« on: Mar 17, 2018, 03:18 PM »
I got a great set of warm boots at the beginning of the season and I'm solidly a size 8 (they are the rubber boggs type). The toes fit great but my heel lifts up and has worn the lining away. I'd hate to order a second pair (and I haven't even found a size 7 in this model) so I'm wondering if anyone has had luck adding something to the heel from lifting.

Also I've developed plantar fasciitis in both feet from trudging on ice ridges and snow, especially with chain style cleats. Anyone have luck adding a firm insert?

Cheers and thanks,

I have added both thermal soles and some comfort soles to my Mucks and my La Crosse hunting boots with success for warmth and sore feet ... Moleskin pads might take up some of the excess room in the heel.
