Timing is everything

Got out this afternoon looking for a fish or 2.  Got lucky and fished one hole for 22 minutes and caught a limit of crappie and one gill.  Crappies weren't huge but 8.75 to 9.5 inches.  All were caught on a green and yellow floss fly with a red head fished just under the ice.  Sight fished every one but the gill.  After my limit and culling a few fish they disappeared and I could not find them agian.  Mobility is severely limited due to ice conditions, so I left.  Spent more time in the car than fishing, but I will take it for the first time out.

Got 2 bags of fillets to give away.

Im butthurt. I cant even get a little time off of work to fish. Today me and the wife are going to fish. After that, who knows with this warm up. Congrats Wax, that had to be fun. ;D

Got out again this morning with spring bobber and got 42 from daylight til 1030 when we left.   One gill the rest were crappie.  Fish started just under the ice but seemed to move to the bottom as sun came out.  Bite was slower today mainly because the fish were moving more and it wasn't easy to know which way they went.   I fished with same lure as before and then switched to an a bomb jig when they went the to the bottom.  Tomorrow will be the last day for the ice we were on.  40s and rain with no freezing at night will make it unsafe.
