Stealth all the way. I will run to a flag but I slow down as I get closer.

.     That’s for sure, always put fish away. Where do u think someone just walking on the ice gonna go, towards the guy with no fish on ice , or the guy with a pile ??

Used to throw mine on ice yrs ago and had about. A 12” crappie there, and a dog came over and was sniffing around, and took that fish and ran off, with me chasing him. Gave up and one guy said that dog does that all the time !!

Stealth unless I'm fishing amongst a group already, then just to yell "FLAG!!" to let them know someone has a flag up.

If I'm keeping fish they will either be buried in snow or auger-drilled shavings or in a bucket.

When alone, very stealth..

Sometimes I even look for abandoned holes, so I don't raise hell drilling more, I'd rather no one know I'm there, including the fish...

Sometimes I'll hide fish, and keep my stick low too...

I can sometimes get a fish off the hook, without my buddy 8ft away even catching on..

I put caught fish on a chain stringer and drop it down a spare hole a short ways off so as not to alarm the un-caught ones. Two things happen. Even if someone walks up on you, they won't see what you've been doing and it keeps your fish fresh and alive until you're ready to leave. Frozen fish always lose their natural texture in my opinion.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Total stealth. For humans & big trophy fish. That's why I'm today's day & age of super good electronics & GPS, run & gun & all the noise puts the big old fat females on red alert

Stealth...

Carry a minnow bucket when checking tip ups baited with dead bait. Any blood that gets on snow is removed or hidden some way. Used up bait that is left on the ice is smashed up so you can’t tell what it is. Back is always turned to the closest people when tending to a flag. I release 99% of the gamefish I catch...they don’t flop around on the ice. Hooks come out and back down the hole they go. Too much flipping around draws attention.

If someone walks up to me I don’t care how cold it is, I slap the window covers up and step outside. We chat there. You don’t get to see what I have rigged up or any fish I’ve kept.

When snow is deep my tip ups won’t be visible from my camp unless a flag is up. The nosy Nellies who stop by to visit won’t know they are there and will think I’m only jigging.

I am more on the stealthy side. I have also had friends and neighbors on the ice drill holes very close to me in shallow water with no ill effect. Just prefer quiet.

I'd say stealth. Too many "vultures" watching around here. I work very hard to find my fish and quality fish at that. I take all measures to hide them from others.

When I use this, I sort of chuck the element of stealth to the birds....
