Anyone ever try leeches under the ice? If you did, any luck?

I'd imagine when the fish are active they could be downright deadly. I looked into getting some but it's just not worth the extra work if they are biting jigs and worms.

I tried them once last year. They were slugs. Don’t move well in the cold.

I will try them this year at Lake Agnes when we finally get up there. There is nothing but grayling in there. We normally go up there on father's day and have good luck on leech pattern flies.

Yep,they roll into a ball and stay that way.I have cut them into chunks and used them on perch jigs at ice off with hit and miss results.

Funny, the ones in the pic aren’t rolled up. There isn’t a fish in Montana that won’t eat a leech pattern. If you don’t want to mess with the live ones.
