Most small local ponds in our area now have 4 to 6 inches of hard black ice.  But sure to check any ice before going out. We have already had customers buying bait.  Good luck if you go and be sure to be safe.  Sherry

Hey RidgeRunner2, thanks for the Ice Report! Do you know if Nelson has good ice out to the weed-line left of the boat access?
For anyone wondering; this is a great central VT Bait-shop easily accessible from exit 8, I89, or exit 7. Just outside of Montpelier North on Route 12. Always there, easy parking, clearly marked with a sign on the side of the road.

Good to see you folks on IS! Ridgerunner is an awesome little shop, and bait from there put me and some buddies on a 41 inch pike last year!

I understand the closed trout waters. Not looking to fish it but with its deep waters it makes a good comparison to other areas I do fish. Thanks for the heads up though. You all are awesome on this site.
