Waiting in the woods
« on: Dec 05, 2017, 05:54 AM »
Anybody else sitting in the woods while we "patiently" wait for the ice to show up? Got this nice little Spike last Saturday morning. Anyone else have any luck?

The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike

Good job on the deer guys.  I hunted Maine instead of CT this year, no deer for me. But it's all good, after a misspent youth whacking-and-stacking I just enjoy getting out.  ;D

Ryan, you need to add walleye to your list this season.  :)

Gongradulations on your spike.  I saw a picture of a massive nontipical shot in salem.  Biggest NT I've seen in Ct possably ever. Good luck rest of the year.  Can't wait for hard water.

I'm hoping to get at least one more before the ice sets in. Next week certainly looks good for both deer movement and ice making

Had a great last day of muzzleloader. Saw 10 in the morning. I finally got a good look at the big 8 mid day but I missed my shot. Stuck it out all day and got this 97lb doe right at the end. First deer with black powder. It was awesome! Now I can finally focus on ice fishing. Lol

In CT it's possible to take at least 17 legally between the various seasons, private/state land and zone regulations. Congratulations to everyone on a fine hunting season, I enjoyed mine as well.

Now it's time to ice fish, perfect timing to ring in the New Year.
