Champlain Valley Hardwater Tournament Series
« on: Nov 16, 2017, 04:22 PM »
Any fellow Shanty members do this tournament series? Tips for someone new to tournaments? I'd like to give it shot this season, especially since one of the events will be held on one of my local lakes (Morey).

I'm thinking of trying it too. What I hear it's a well organized event.

I looked at it but very little of it is actually in the Champlain Valley its a two hour drive to every single event but carmi. No way in hell I'm getting up at 3 on my weekends off to drive two hours to fish when i can be on Champlain in 5 minutes and most anywhere north of Ferrisburgh in an hour.  Should be called the Vermont Hardwater Tournament Series. But hey I get it you cant please everyone!
Think I'm gettin abite my flag's twitchin

I have been fishing these tournaments for a while and I can tell you that there is no better one around. James does a great job putting these on every year and it's a great group of anglers that fish in these.

for the CVH tournaments my best tip to give you is go catch some big panfish at any lake days before and register them for that lake the tourneys at.. ( I know its cheating, but you would fit right in with everyone!) ha ha ha sad but true...watch your back with them

This guy again.
Never has a good thing to say.

Everyone I've heard that's participated in this tourney says it's one
Of the best ones put together.

Perch slayer if you would like to come out to one of the tournaments in would gladly let you check my sled buckets whatever you want to. So that when I beat you at the end of the day you will have no excuses. I can tell you that the group of people who fish in these regularly would not cheat and every one gets checked before going out to make sure

Participated in one of them and I don’t think I’ll do another just not my thing. Also can’t justify driving all the way to the other end of the state for a chance to win I might as well go to a casino with my money lol. If they would host more tourneys upstate they might do better but since most of the guys who fish it are from the southern area it makes sense in a way to hold them down south. If Dustin from dockside held panfish tourneys he could prob give em a run for their money.
i told myself id be back by 2 i guess i didnt factor in that the fish were biting
