Is shrimp part of the walleye’s diet in that particular lake? Each lake is different. If yes, then try it. How would you know what is part of the walleye’s diet in that particular lake? Well you have to catch one first and examine what are the contents of its stomach. I’ll give you a good example one lake has a low alewife population and it has a large leech population so one of my lines always has leech in the summer time or a crawler in the winter. Leeches are inactive below 40 degrees; they curl up in a ball and don’t move. The only way I found out there was a large leech population was when I cleaned the fish and they were gorging themselves on them.   :o
