Do any of you guys use that ion Electric auger? I watched it cut through 7-8 inches of ice like butter over a month ago but just curious how it handles double that amount of ice. For $500 it sure is a hell of a lot lighter than any power auger and would definitely consider a purchase if it holds up for a full day on the king.
I bought the ION this year and it is the best investment I have made for ice fishing besides my sonar. I have cut through ice anywhere from 3"-20" and have never had a single issue. It is half the weight of a gas\propane auger and cuts like butter (no chipper blades). I keep my battery in small lunch bag when I'm not using it and have never even used half the battery life this season. I was skeptical about electric when I bought this but I can honestly say it is a no brainer...Once you use an electric you will throw your gas\propane out immediately!!
lol you want electric and speed as well the ice gator will take care of that.
krajon that sucks did the tail gate get bent kind looks it form picture. That's two strikes I would not go back.
20v dewalt and clam auger with 6" lazer is great
Yeah it bent the hell out of it. Few dents on the truck as well but the tailgate and ramps took most of the hit. and Yeah I think cotton has it out for me. I went a bit north today. Overpacked and cracked the heater handle but nothing major lol. I have great luck. Just not with fish. Only kept 6 perch and 1 pan. Looks like I need to invest in a flasher!! (redhead with DD's pm to apply :p)
Is this thread about Lake George or Ice Augers? Lets get back on track.
Do lakers tend to be in shallower water this time of year
I still drill holes by hand 20" or not lol
the Lakers are on the perch grounds heavy in my spots. 25-50 fow
How's the access at vets? Bubbler taking a toll on the ice yet?
