Early ice = mixed bag

Solo outing on early this morning. Non stop action, ended up with 20 perch, 6 bass, 4 bluegills, and 1 pumpkinseed in about 3.5 hours of fishing.  Unfortunately, nothing too big. Surprise of the day was that there was not 1 crappie in sight.

Looks like a pretty good day

Looks like a pretty good day

Was hoping for better. After I got back, I found out from a friend that some people had been there by boat right before freeze up and fished out the monster crappies I was hoping to hit. He sent me some pics 

At that spot, it's first ice or nothing, hope to beat them to it next year.
