Imagine if I posted: "I hope Lake George doesn't freeze this year so everyone stays off OUR lake". ::) ;D All the lakes belong to everyone, post and share what you want if you like, or don't if you don't want to.

Let's get back to the BSing while we're waiting for the big lake to freeze.

It's pretty amazing how many lakers are out there, especially when the start schooling up in late summer. Here's a couple pics from my sonar last August.

Wind is howling, hoping that after the storm blows through the wind dies. Friday night is supposed to 15 to 20 below, if that wind dies the lake is ready to freeze. It can make a lot of ice if its calm.

just took a ride around the lake steam rolling off of her like crazy. some bays were real windy some nice and calm walked out on basin bay a ways with a spud bar and my auger got out maybe 5/600 feet only about 2-3 inches of real crappy ice that was broken and re froze throughout wind storms. looking good though for a decent freeze tonight, fingers crossed

the snow yesterday doesn't matter …..  it was all open water this morning so any ice being formed will be clear black ice ……      just need calm winds so it can freeze all over   ;)

Glad the dude is ok.
He should have waited just one more day. Hopefully it was an easy lesson learned.
Seems like I hear about one person going for a swim in Dunhams every year.

I know first hand how tricky Dunhams is early ice. Glad to hear he was ok  hopefully he learned a lesson.    Early ice on lake George means bring a spud bar
