I was woundering if anyone had any ice fishing tattoos or fishing tattoos? WOuld love to hear about them or see them to give me an idea of what to get.

I dont have one yet but Ive definately been thinking about it. Was thinking about something cartoonish like a polar bear sitting on the ice in front of a hole jigging a pole. My other idea would be a picture like view of a lake with our sandhills in the background and two or three figures of guys out fishing on the ice. Theres a guy up in Rapid City whos an incredible artist. Want to see what he can come up with for me one of these days.

12 stiches (scar) above right knee from ice auger. Does that count as being tatooed? My 22 year old daughter gave me that the first time I took her out on the ice (she was three at the time)

I have 18 tattoos but none of them are fishing related...YET...But ive already got them picked out for later this year... A broken rapala on the back of my right leg and a hula popper on the back of my Left leg...Just need $1000 bucks to get it done. My wife thinks im a redneck Moron. Shes right ;D

its not really an ice fishing tattoo, but I convinced my ex (when i was with her) to get a matching tattoo with me. We ended up with a gamakatsu circle hook on our legs that looks as if its stuck in the leg. I wonder how she feels about that tattoo now ;D
ill see if i can dig up a pic later. Plans before the season ends is a walleye tattoo tpac style lol

Thanks guys, I drew that tattoo and there is one in the works. If you look close at the tail you can see my wifes enitials M L, that was the way I would put her name on my body was if it was hidden. ;D

At Last Count I have 75 tattoos, I have a Catfish Tattoo in the works, and most likely my Avatar will end up somewhere on my body...at this point I'm just trying to cover skin.. Chest,Arms,Stomach,Back and legs are heavily covered...I have a friend who comes to my house a few times a month to do the work...once the Catfish and Ice shanty logo are done I'll post some photos!!

I've thought about it, but I just can't think of something that would work.... I'm running out of space too..
My last idea was to get a flasher screen around me right nip. Unfortunately, I have ink around my left nip so I already know how bad it's gonna hurt.... :pinch: It makes me not want to do that again. :unsure:
Collar bone, backs of the upper arm, and around the nips is NO FUN. :'(

Hey Skipper, I've had a couple of these. Fish long enough and it's bound to happen.
My partner helped me with this one. A good stout length of line, knowledge of the procedure and the guts to do kept me out of the ER. Partner loops the line through the bend of the offending point, I press down on the shank to disengage the barb from the wound channel and partner gives a nice even, straight pull to pop the hook loose.
I'd previously saved a guy that had a tiny (by comparison) bait hook only barely buried. You'd have thought I kicked him somewhere when I removed it. I was ready for the worst, but it was truly amazing. Very little (as in no) pain in the removal and no real damage. A good trick for the boat or the bush.
I did wind up in the ER this past Nov. No partner available and a really queer angle. Just couldn't get at it myself. They took an 18 gauge hypodermic needle, went in the entry hole, followed the hook down to engage the barb with the needle. Put the hole of the needle over the barb and backed the whole works out.............pretty slick.
No, I'm really not that careless............ sometimes stuff just happens.

Hey Skipper, I've had a couple of these. Fish long enough and it's bound to happen.
I got it through the web between my thumb and pointer finger. I drove it through and snipped it off. :'(
I now pinch the barbs down just a bit with a pliers. Right out of the box when they are new, I reduce the barb by around 50%. It makes for easier hooksets too. I never have fish come off either.

What's that under the pike? It looks like an Adams family baseball mitt with a leghold trap in the palm.
It's the logo of a regional trappers association in New York State. The background is an animal paw print; the item in the foreground is a foothold trap.
I'm familiar with the Adams family, but not their baseball mitts..lol ??? ;D

I never got into trapping, but always wanted too. Not there isn't enough time in the day to get things done that have to be done, let alone things I'd like to do.
