Wondering, if anyone had any info regarding the winners or fish caught, from both Stone lake and Spring lake yesterday? Anyone go?

I was at the spring lake derby.   I did not see the fish but I heard the yelling when he caught it.   He did show a bunch of people pictures on his phone.   I don't know if the picture was next to tape measure.  Second place crappie was 14 inches.   The last derby I caught a 14 inch crappie and they measured it correctly.  It was a catch and release derby.

Was there this year to witness this behemoth 18 incher and I was there last year to see the 2nd place 17 incher. laid eyes on both and wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it as well. Big bass was 16. I probably wont be back due to them only paying out $100 for 1st and $50 for 2nd place crappie only. brought in a lot of money with $ 20 entry. and the big fish pots on the side were only giving back 50%. Stone lake had a turn out of 43 people at $25 a piece and they paid out $900 to winners in total. there was way more than 43 there and only paid out 150. Had I known, I wouldn't even have went. cost me and partner $40 to enter and $16 in bait(56 total) just to get on the ice.

Wow guys thanks for the input, sounds like a good place to ice fish only 3 mins from the house. Looks like a membership would be worth it!

the stone lake tourney was grueling.  only one spot at 20 foot is where guys camped out they got there very early  and the tournament director let them go out on the lake and start fishing.   When I got there I was ver sad to see that some giuys got a huge advantage fishing a hoaur before the rest of us went on the lake needless t say I wont be doing that tournament ever again.  Its like most tournaments LaPorte has the locals are given huge advantages and the rest just try and play by the rules.  I will do the NAIFC tourney they are straight shooters no one is given any advantage and rules are followed .
