Marmish Clips
« on: Oct 16, 2007, 09:11 AM »

It's great to be back !!

Each season we have many questions as to the technique and use of Marmish rods and lures. I'm happy to say Marmish has added video clips at the top of their web site which should give some basic insight. I found the clips entertaining as well as informative .... Enjoy !

nice, what they need to do now is explain the difference between the new rod and the original rod

Make sure you watch the end of the pike video, and watch how he pulls the pike out of the hole.  :roflmao:

some cool videos, however I dont see any advantages of one of these rods over an ordinary spring bobber ice rod. ???

cool videos, but I agree with kyle. I gave up hand lining a long time ago when ice fishing technology grew. Maybe I am a product of the new generation of ice fisherman so I don't see the advantage of the "rod". To each his own and good luck with it.

I bought one at the St Paul ice fishing show last year and only used it once. After watching the videos, I am gonna use it alot more this ice season. Pretty cool.

Just bought my 2nd Marmish rod. Great little rod. I caught a bunch of fish last year on it. The jigs are great as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the Vids.

Its that little thing called presentation. That is what attracts the fish (any kind) to bite. Check out those video clips paying attention to that vibration of the lure ;)

I'm sure you could send them a check or MO.

I just got my new rod on Ebay.

I also think they should produce a video that shows HOW the subtle jigging action is done.  I know with mine last year, really only the tiniest tap on the spring bobber was required to entice a bite, but it took a while to master the technique, I used it on largemouth and perch on the worst of days in the clearest of spring-fed water, and it did get them to bite.  I sure wish you could winch the fish with the reel on the Marmish rod too, I hate hand-lining them in the heat of battle and ending up with tangled lines. These vids are just fish porn for advertising purposes, more detailed presentation clips would be great!
